Tour of the Plateau d’Emparis
The 36.6 km route can be covered in 4 hours 30 minutes. The highest point is 1,533 km high. It takes you around a gigantic plateau in the heart of the Massif de l’Oisans (Hautes-Alpes). The tour starts and finishes at the village of Le Chazalet. You’ll pass through some wonderful spots, including the Pic du Mas de la Grave.
The route above Névache (Hautes-Alpes)
This mountain bike route in the PACA region covers 43.2 km in around 7 hours 10 minutes. The starting point is in Névache. The route takes you to the heights of the village. You’ll discover the Clarée Valley in all its beauty. You’ll also pass along the GR®57, which takes you all the way to Lac des Cerces.
The Col de la Pousterle route
This mountain bike circuit is perfectly suited to budding cyclists. It is 7.6 km long and can be completed in around 1 h 30. The starting point is between meadows and forests. Get ready for a superb stroll around the resort of Puy Saint Vincent. Hikers will also cross the Col de la Pousterle.
The Grandes Têtes route
Once again, this is an easy circuit that cyclists of all levels can enjoy(14.6 km, 2 h 15). To start, you need to cross the Puy Saint Vincent ski resort. Then you’ll reach the Tournoux plateau. This takes you over the Col de la Pousterna. You’ll then reach the Tour des Têtes, where you’ll enjoy a magnificent panoramic view.
The Sommet du Broc circuit
This is one of the most emblematic mountain bike trails in the PACA region. It covers 18.9 km (3 hours). Rather technical, it offers superb views over the Var and the Monaco coast.
The Vacherie de Férisson circuit
This mountain bike course in the PACA region is rated “very difficult”. It covers 27.8 km, which enthusiasts can complete in 5 hrs 41 min. It’s a round trip that takes you to the Vacherie de Férisson. Once there, you’ll be overwhelmed by a typically Alpine setting, at the foot of a sumptuous mountain cirque.
The Col des Combes route
This is a beautiful 14.4 km circuit (2 h 30). Of medium difficulty, it’s perfect for beginners. It takes you up through the forest on the Freissinières ubac, then down through the hamlets of Champcella.
The Chapelle Saint-Ours route
This easy circuit(7.6 km, one hour) takes you along small roads and forest tracks. Discover the hamlets of Saint-Martin-de-Que-rières and Sachas.
The Blue Thistle trail
Get ready for the 24h km (3 hours) of this intermediate-level circuit. It takes you to the heart of the Chardons Bleus nature reserve.
The Turini route
We finish on a high note with this 31.4 km circuit (7 h 40). Here, you’ll discover the mythical Col de Turini.
