PACA’s first European Ecolabel campsite

In July 2022, YouCamp Village will become the first campsite in the PACA region to receive European Ecolabel certification. Issued by AFNOR Certification, this certification guarantees a concrete and measurable commitment. It recognizes the efforts made to reduce the site’s environmental impact, preserve resources and raise awareness of more responsible practices.

The European Ecolabel is based onprecise criteria: 100% renewable energy, ecolabeled cleaning products, rigorous management of consumption, waste reduction and limitation of single-use plastics.

It also includes raising awareness among staff and passengers, so that everyone contributes to respecting the environment.

For YouCamp Village, being a certified ecological campsite is more than just a symbol: it’s a lasting commitment, built into our day-to-day operations, to offer a more respectful stayin line with the site’s values.

Set in the heart of a magnificent 7-hectare pine forest, just a stone ‘s throw from Marseille and Cassis (less than 20 minutes away), the campsite attaches great importance to developing a management and development project in keeping with this rich environment.

In July 2022, Youcamp Village became the first campsite in the PACA region to obtain the European ecolabel. Awarded by Afnor Certification for a period of 4 years, the European ecolabel certifies the campsite’s commitment to implementing an environmental policy aimed at reducing its impact, as well as supporting its staff and customers in the ecological transition.

Concrete ecological actions on a daily basis

Choosing an eco-friendly campsite also means supporting an approach that is applied on a daily basis. At YouCamp Village, ecology is not an argument, but a way of doing things. The energy used on site is 100% renewable, and over 95% of cleaning products are eco-labelled to limit their impact on the environment. Single-use plastic has been eliminated, and each camper is supported in adopting the right reflexes. An ongoing waste reduction plan is also in place to continually improve the campsite’s practices.

To avoid taking the car, everything is provided on site: restaurant, small grocery store, bread depot and activities accessible on foot. A simple, practical and responsible stay, true to the spirit of ecological camping!

Environmentally-friendly accommodation

Staying at an eco-responsible campsite means choosing accommodation designed to blend harmoniously with the environment. At our eco-responsible campsite, accommodation is set in the heart of the pine forest, respecting the vegetation already present. Ecolodges, cabins and pod chalets blend naturally into the scenery, allowing you to enjoy a holiday close to nature, without artifice.

All accommodation is connected to an ecological wastewater treatment plant located below the campsite. Wastewater is treated on site using a natural filtration system, limiting environmental impact and avoiding unnecessary discharge. To guarantee the smooth operation of the system, all the products used by the maintenance team are eco-labelled.

Each camper is also encouraged to follow this approach: eco-friendly products for laundry, cleaning and hygiene are recommended and available at reception. A simple way to enjoy a comfortable, logical stay in line with the spirit of an eco-responsible campsite.

At YouCamp Village, our approach is not just based on equipment or labels: it relies on the involvement of everyone. The campsite provides the tools, information and services needed to facilitate the right reflexes during the stay, but it’s the holidaymakers who contribute to extending this approach by adopting simple gestures.

This participation takes the form of everyday actions such as sorting waste and depositing it in the containers provided, using the compost available at the site entrance, limiting car journeys thanks to the services already available on site, and choosing environmentally-friendly products whenever possible.

This shared logic allows us to preserve the natural site and fully enjoy the ecological camping experience: pleasant, concrete and coherent.
