What if your next outing near Marseille took you on a journey to discover the secrets of pastis, gin and rum? In Aubagne, at the heart of the Château des Creissauds, Ferroni House offers an experience that blends heritage, expertise and creativity. From the aromatic garden to the stills and tastings, set off to discover the secrets behind Maison Ferroni’s spirits.
Ferroni House: where history meets creativity
Based at the Château des Creissauds in Aubagne, Ferroni House conceives and crafts spirits inspired by history, travel and Provence. Its founder, Guillaume Ferroni, draws much of his inspiration from his research into historic spirits and forgotten recipes, which he reinterprets with a contemporary twist.
Today, the estate is a true hub of production and discovery. It is home to the famous Pastis des Creissauds, made from fresh botanicals grown or harvested on site, as well as Ferroni Rums, Gin Juillet and various liqueurs inspired by historical recipes.
A behind-the-scenes tour
Ferroni House doesn’t just produce its spirits: it also invites visitors to explore its world.
During the guided tours, you can explore the estate, discover the herb garden, see the stills and step inside the maceration room, before finishing with a tasting session. It’s a great way to understand the different stages of production whilst learning about the history of the place and the Maison’s expertise.
To take things a step further, the distillery also offers workshops in Aubagne. Pastis enthusiasts, in particular, can create their own recipe using macerates of fresh herbs, seeds and spices, then take home a personalised 35 cl bottle. The gin workshop, meanwhile, allows you to craft your own recipe using herbs, seeds, spices and fruits.
An experience to enjoy amongst the trees
After discovering the spirits from Ferroni House, why not continue the experience by heading up to the treetops?
Perched some four metres above the ground amongst the pine trees of the Château des Creissauds, the Bar dans les Arbres offers a setting that is, to say the least, original. In summer, this tree-top bar showcases fresh fruit and herbs – particularly those grown in the estate’s herb gardens – to create cocktails with summery flavours.
Open in the evenings from Thursday to Sunday during the 2026 summer season, it’s the perfect spot to round off a day of exploration with a cocktail, in the heart of Aubagne’s natural surroundings.
Whether you’re a spirits enthusiast, keen to discover local expertise or simply looking for an original activity near Marseille, Maison Ferroni offers several ways to explore the Château des Creissauds. A tour, a workshop or a cocktail high up in the trees: the choice is yours!
